The Highway Department provides for public safety and maintenance of 163 miles of Town highways. Our goal is to provide a reasonable level of safety and convenience to highway users. We strive to preserve the investment made in roadways, structures and facilities and to ensure effective and economical utilization of labor, equipment, material and
financial resources in accomplishing highway maintenance programs.
Services provided by the Highway Department are as follows:
Bag & Brush Pickup, Road Surface Treatments, Drainage Improvements, Reconstruction of Roadways,
Cutting Trees, Brush & Maintaining Right of Way, Fall Leaf Vacuum, Snow
Plowing, Sanding & Salting, Traffic Control Devices - Stop Signs,
Street Signs Etc., Road Striping & Sidewalk Maintenance
