Service Description
The functions and responsibilities of the Planning Department include being professional staff to the Planning Board, Zoning Board, and Conservation Advisory Council (GCAC), the coordination of subdivision reviews with town staff and other governmental agencies, writing site reviews for all cases before the Planning and Zoning Boards, coordination of the Planning Board and GCAC agendas, SEQR coordination, drafting zoning ordinance and subdivision regulation amendments, advising the Town Board on planning related matters, maintenance of the official zoning map, long range planning, dissemination of information to the general public regarding the planning and subdivision process, and the administration of the Geographic Information System (GIS).
