THE FOLLOWING SHOULD BE SUBMITTED TO OBTAIN A BUILDING PERMIT:
1) A permit application accompanied with the appropriate required fee.
2) A complete set of working drawings; which should include:
A) A scaled plot plan clearly identifying the deck's location and proposed setbacks from the property lines.
B) Floor plan, including but not limited to:
a) Deck dimensions
b) Supporting piers and their spacing
c) Direction and size of floor joists and their spacing
d) Direction and size of bearing beam and its location
e) Detail of connection point to the home
C) Cross section, including but not limited to:
a) Height of railing
b) Size of joist
c) Size of bearing beam
d) Depth and size of pier
(42" below grade minimum - 8" min. width)
D) Step and railing information
a) Any deck or platform over 30" above finished floor or above
Finished grade shall require a guard not less than 36" high
b) 8 1/4" maximum height of risers
c) 36" minimum width of stairs
d) Minimum 9" tread for open riser type
e) Minimum spacing between spindles - 4" on center
