When is the open enrollment period? |
The month of December is the open enrollment period. This is the only time that an employee can enroll in or make changes to a benefit program, unless there is a qualifying event (ie. birth of child, marriage, etc.). The enrollment / change forms are available in the Human Resource Department and must be completed and returned by the last weekday in December. The change will be effective as of January 1 of the following year.
Employees of the Town are paid bi-weekly on Fridays. The employee must notify his/her Department Head in advance for authorization of check pick-up by someone other than the employee. The authorized individual picking up a check for an employee must provide proper identification and must sign for it.
Can I pick my check up early? |
If an employee has a pre-approved vacation day scheduled on a payday, they may pick up their check on Thursday after 3pm, provided they have either given the Payroll Department advance notice in writing, or had their Department Head verbally make the request, by Wednesday of the payroll week. If the Payroll Department is not given advance notice, the employee will not be able to pick up their check early.
