Welcome to the Historian's web page. I hope that your visit will leave you with a better appreciation for the rich history of the Town of Guilderland.
Since the establishment of our town in 1803, we have grown in leaps and bounds. Our forefathers provided us with a foundation and roots that are important to remember.
As Town Historian, it is my responsibility to provide residents with an accurate interpretation of the past, serve as a resource for the community and as a preservationist for our local history and historic structures in the Town.
We have many exciting things happening in Guilderland that focus on our heritage:
|
Exterior restoration of the John L. Schoolcraft House on Western Avenue is almost completed and plans are in place for designing and restoring the interior to be used as a cultural and educational center for the Town of Guilderland. |

Improvements are being made to the historic Frederick House in Guilderland Center. I hope that this informational venue will whet your appetite for knowledge and you will join in our efforts to honor the past in order to preserve the future. Thank you so much for visiting. |
