Unfinished Business
1) Road Obstructions Issue: Ms. Molloy and Mr. Hotaling contacted a number of surrounding communities including Voorheesville, Bethlehem, Colonie, etc. to ask how each address obstructions road i.e., leaves, etc. by homeowners. None of the communities have specific regulations governing this issue. Lt. Cox stated although the V&T Law prohibits obstructions placed in the road, the perpetrator must be seen committing the infraction for a citation to be issued. Three options that were considered included notices in the Town Newsletters and on Channel 17
and a new Local Law. T/B/C
2) VanWormer Drive: Lt. Cox reported that the company supplying the information to Google, Yahoo and MapQuest had corrected routing information as requested so that vehicles seeking a proper route would be directed to use VanBuren Boulevard and not VanWormer Drive when traveling to the Northeastern Industrial Park. However, immediate impact will not be observed until all three mapping services download the corrected information.
Lt. Cox also reported that Albany County stated that it could not change the sign on School Road. The County then suggested that the State DOT consider a smaller sign for Route 146 that is used on Adirondack Park roads. County will consider the smaller sign for School Road. The Guilderland Highway Department has already installed a “no outlet” sign at the appropriate location on VanWormer.
3) Witte Road: The Guilderland Police Department has issued some summons at this location. The recently completed traffic study will be discussed at the next meeting of the TSC. T/B/C
