Meeting began at 7:05 PM and ended at 8:00 PM.
Minutes: The draft minutes from the August 30, 2006 meeting were approved as submitted.
Updates: VanWormer Drive – the Chairman contacted Mapquest and again to advise that the correction is not yet reflected in downloadable maps. A message was left on their answering machine.
Unfinished Business
1) Nott Road / Grant Hill Road / Foundry Road – The Chairman will contact the Planning Department to determine if this intersection is under review as it relates to the proposed new development in the area. Jan Weston will check with the town designated engineer to make a similar inquiry. N/F/A
2) Christine Drive East at Jean Place – Mike reported that there is no history why a stop sign was placed on Christine Drive West and that there is no unusual geometry at the intersection. Also, he indicated that Jean Place is the primary road. It was generally felt by committee members present that Jean Place and Christina Drive East should not be changed to a 3-way stop intersection as the conditions don’t warrant one, i.e., sight distances are good, it’s clear that Jean Place is the primary road. It is Town practice not to install 3-way stop signs at
such intersections. However, the Committee decided to table this issue until the next meeting in which input will be sought from the other members. T/B/C
3) Witte Road – Mike will look into getting additional traffic cards reprinted; Patricia will be asked to check to see if funds are available. Highway would be able to do the labeling and mailing. T/B/C
4) McKown Road/Woodscape Drive – Mike reported that highway is planning to install catch basins and to extend the culvert. This will eliminate the need for a guide rail. N/F/A
New Business
1) Public information – The TSC will place traffic safety notices on the Town Crier, Fire Department Boards, etc. N/F/A
