Minutes for Committee Meeting on February 28, 2007
Attendees: Present: - Lieutenant Cox, Scott Snide, Norine Molloy, Minnie Lee, Betty McGowan, Joe Hallenbeck and Jerry Houser who recorded the minutes.
Absent: Mike Hotaling and Patricia Slavick
Meeting began at 7:05 PM and ended at 7:55 PM.
Minutes: The draft minutes from the October 25, 2006 meeting were approved as submitted.
Updates: VanWormer Drive – the Chairman continues to pursue resolution of the Mapquest issue which has not yet been resolved.
Unfinished Business
1)East Lydius Street at East Old State Road – Complainant reported a stacking up of vehicles at this intersection. A previous traffic count did not uncover any such problem. Decision to be made at next TSC meeting. T/B/C
2)Lillian Drive at East Lydius Street – Complainant reported visual obstruction coming out of Lillian. Mike did some pruning. N/F/A
3)Witte Road – Mike will report if traffic safety postcards were distributed. T/B/C
New Business
1)East Lydius Street at Lone Pine Road – Complainant reported an automobile accident at the intersection and requests four-way stop signs. The State DOT reported eight incidents since 1988 including failure to yield right-of-way; collision with tree, other minor incidents, etc. Mike will check for proper placement of signs. A traffic study will be performed. T/B/C.
2)Arcadia Avenue – request for no parking signs across the street from Across-the-Street Pub. Complainant reports that there were no parking signs in the past but they came down over time and never replaced. Mike will check to see the status of the signs and will follow-up with Town officials to see if Board action is required to re-install signs. N/F/A
3)Osborne Road at Stitt Road – Complainant has difficulty getting out on to Osborne Road from Stitt Road because of cut-through traffic. Requests all-way stop at this intersection. Referred to Guilderland Police for enforcement. N/F/A
Other:
Jerry suggested that the Town Crier carry a TSC message that it is a violation of the V&T Law to leave the engine idling in unattended vehicles. He will research the section of the V&T Law and propose the message.
