Delmar, NY – A “Health Information Day: Aging Vision & Medicare” will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the Bethlehem Town Hall Auditorium, 445 Delaware Avenue in Delmar. Co-sponsored by the Northeastern Association of the Blind at Albany (NABA), Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Bethlehem Senior Services, the purpose of the event is to provide the community information about the leading causes of vision loss and how NABA’s low vision services, can help. Empire Blue will also be on hand to provide the basics of Medicare enrollment.
Cheryl Lawyer, NABA Outreach & Education Coordinator and Kathie Lee, Field Services Rep from Empire Blue Cross will be the featured speakers. Ms. Lawyer, a New York State Certified Teacher, provides community education about vision loss, service dogs and NABA’s low vision rehabilitation services. She will present “Aging Successfully with Aging Vision ~ What YOU can do!” Low vision aids will be demonstrated and available for sale. Ms. Lee is responsible for community education for Empire Blue Cross and will provide information to help attendees better understand signing up for and accessing Medicare services.
