Grandpa Cacao with local children's

Guilderland Public Library, 2228 Western Ave., Guilderland, NY 12084
Event Date:
Saturday, February 22, 2020 - 2:00pm to 3:15pm

Where does chocolate come from? Find out as local children's author Elizabeth Zunon reads “Grandpa Cacao: a Tale of
Chocolate, from Farm to Family”, her first authored-illustrated picture book inspired by the life of the grandfather she never met. A cacao and chocolate show and tell will follow, and children will also get to decorate their own chocolate bar wrapper to take home! Our neighbors at Candy Kraft Candies are kindly donating some chocolates too!

Please Note:
This program is for children in grades K - 5. Space and supplies are limited, so you must register each child for this program. This children's program starts at 2PM.

Drawing and painting have always been among the most important things to illustrator Elizabeth Zunon. Born in Albany, NY and raised in the Ivory Coast (Cote d'Ivoire), West Africa, she cultivated a love of color and pattern, which are fixtures in her works today. After returning to the United States, Elizabeth attended Guilderland Central High School and the Rhode Island School of Design. Her twelfth illustrated children's book, “Grandpa Cacao: a Tale of Chocolate, from Farm to Family" (Bloomsbury), was published in May 2019.
