On Tuesday, February 18th at 10:30 a.m. at the Guilderland Public Library, the Albany Guardian Society (AGS) is hosting a community discussion about “Guilderland Village," a grassroots initiative seeking to support seniors adults who choose to age-in-place. It is based upon the principle of “neighbors helping neighbors.” Studies show that many seniors want to remain in their own homes as they age, but that there are limited resources to make that possible for many people. The “Village concept” involves a community of people who can pool resources by paying membership dues and volunteering their skills and time to support the Village infrastructure and assist one another.
Here is a flyer for this first “Guilderland Village” informational meeting. To learn more about the Village Movement and Villages in the Capital Region, please visit the Capital Region Villages Collaborative website (www.crvillages.org).
There is no cost to participate in this informational meeting, but registration is requested by close of business on February 14, 2020. To register please call AGS at 518-434-2140 or by email at: AGS@AlbanyGuardianSociety.org (please note “Guilderland meeting” in the subject line).
