Transfer Station

The Transfer Station will be closing at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday April 11th.

The Guilderland Transfer Station is only open to people bringing in material from the Town of Guilderland. We do not accept material from outside the Town of Guilderland.

Guilderland Parks and Transfer Station decals are required and can be issued at the Transfer Station, Parks office, or the Town Clerks office at Town Hall. Bring your vehicle registration to get the decal. The current color is BLUE. The Decals are also needed for entrance to the town park and are also good for the Hazardous waste day events!

Household Hazardous Waste Day

Household Hazardous Waste Day will take place on Saturday, April 11th 2020 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Town of Guilderland Highway Department located at 6338 French's Mill Rd. Guilderland Center, NY 12085.

You will not need to pre register for the event but must bring proof of residency. Proof of residency is a valid New York State Driver’s License or current Town tax bill, or a town parks and transfer station sticker.

Due to the high volume of traffic that arrives before the event starts you will have to use the Hurst Road entrance(see map link below). You will not be able to enter on Frenche's Mill road. This change is necessary due to the mile long back up that occurs on 146.

Hazardous waste info:

You can help reduce the extremely high cost of our hazardous waste day events by making sure you only bring in waste from the Town of Guilderland.

**Latex paints can be dried and thrown in the regular trash. Latex paint is not hazardous. You can leave the lids off and simply let them air dry or add dirt or cat litter in to speed up the drying process. The cans can then be put into the regular garbage.

The bulk of our hazardous waste and therefore the cost is from latex paint. You can help by trying to keep latex paint out of the hazardous waste stream and lower the cost of these events!!

Thank you!!
